Top 5 things to do in Nice ??

Nice is a city that is aptly named. It is a beautiful city located at the edge of the Mediterranean Sea, in the south of France. From the Promenade des Anglais through the Castle Hill, I will share with you the top 5 things I loved doing in Nice.

1- Enjoy the beach

Du Blue ! Nothing but Blue !

The city is home to many beautiful beaches. I couldn’t see them all, but I was able to enjoy one of the most beautiful, Castel Beach, a private beach. The city is home to many beautiful beaches. I couldn’t see them all, but I was able to enjoy one of the most beautiful, Castel beach, a private beach. I lived most of my life by the sea, so I needed that moment with the turquoise water and pebbles. If you are adventurous, you will love parasailing like I did at Nikaia Glisse.

Warning:

  • The water is very deep. So you should think twice, especially if you can’t swim.
  • They have pebbles instead of fine sand, and that can be very uncomfortable. You should be very careful and take the necessary precautions.

2- Walk along the famous Promenade des Anglais

Impossible to talk about Nice without mentioning the Promenade des Anglais. It is probably one of the most popular places in the city. Between sea and palm trees, this 7km walk goes from the castle hill to Nice airport. If you go there, do not hesitate to make a detour to the various luxury hotels such as Negresco and the Palais de la Méditerranée. You will be able to discover the unique piece of Art from Negresco and enjoy the sea view from the most beautiful terrace of the Palais de la Méditerranée.

Useful information:

If you want to do the whole promenade , the best is to do is to rent a bike, a segway or rollers!

3- Get high with la colline du château ( Castle Hill )

At the end of the promenade is the hill of the castle. From the top of its 93 meters, the colline du château offers you an impressive sight on the city of Nice. You can have different perspectives of Nice while browsing the following places:

  • La tour Bellanda (Bellanda Tower)
  • La Cascade du Château ( The Castle Waterfall)
  • Le parc de la Colline du château (Castle Hill Park)
  • Le cimetière du Château (The castle cemetery)

Useful information :

You can walk up and down the castle on foot or use the elevator. There is also a tourist train that allows you to get there. The departure of the trains takes place every 45 minutes at the Albert-Iᵉʳ garden, in front of the centenary monument.

4- Explore Old Nice

After visiting the castle hill, you can find yourself in a few minutes walk in the old town of Nice. Once on site you will be greeted by the many ocher facades that will seduce any camera. You will discover the famous Cours Saleya market, the many craft shops, or you can sit on the terrace of a café. You can also take the opportunity to discover local sweets such as socca or pissaladière.

5- Browse Place Masséna and travel with La Promenade du Paillon

Full of history, the place Masséna is one of the “jewels” of the city of Nice. It is the meeting place of Nice and hosts several events such as the famous Carnival of Nice. You will be able to discover the fountain of the sun as well as several series of sculpture with stories more exciting than the others. If you are a picture lover, its black and white patterned tiles and beautiful buildings painted red, and orange will satisfy your creativity. I loved the energy that emanated from this place: people, artists, art, a real treat!

Not far from there you will find the Promenade du Paillon. This green flow will allow you to make a botanical journey across the continents. It is also a trip back in time with its mirror of water. The mirror of water and the plateau of the mists are my favorites because they prove to be very refreshing in case of heat wave!

So what is the first place you will visit once in Nice?
